(Avanzado 1) London Calling!

London Calling to the faraway towns...said The Clash. London is calling and we're just going on a trip. Collect the few quid you managed to save the last time, rehearse your cockney accent, as we're off.
The only thing we're going to do today is plan our trip. Some of you will look for accomodation- What do students prefer? A hostel? A low-budget hotel? Some Bread & Breakfast?
Some will watch out for bargains so we can fly cheaper- Easy Jet? Ryanair? British Airways? Where from? And how are we going from Luton/Stansted/Heathrow to central London?
Some others will schedule-are we going sightseeing? Just go and hit the bars? Zoos? Museums? A musical perhaps? A stroll in a park? Shopping in a market? Or rather Harrod's? Do you want to see David Beckham in wax at Madame Tussaud's? The London Eye?
To make things easier, visit London.
To put things in common, we're going to chat so you can make instant decisions. Don't think it over and make up your mind, as we're running out of time.
To finish today's activity, this is the homework:
You have to answer a few questions and facts about London. Go to this webquest and follow the instructions. Who will manage to find all the answers? Solutions next day in class.

See you!

Are we going to London??? I'm nicely surprised. When we'll go?
Is there a real raffle to get a free ticket? When is the due date to participate?
Sorry, I've missed last class.

i think that this matter is only one matter to talk about but we wont go to london as a class, well, is very interesting this post because we are looking to diversify our understanding of other culture as english culture, i have been 6 times in london, (only about 5 days every time) and is one of the funniest citys i know, even if the english people are not very nice, majority of tourist only focus central london, me too, but must be funny to know another parts of london too whose arent in any guides, one londoner boy told me that the reason because all the people think that london is very expensive is because the tourist only visit the expensive center of the town, londoners rarely venture this places as they couldnt afford to.........., if we pay local prices we can save a fortune, world is in crisis now.....,rents are expensive but, you can find a cheaper hostels, as www.piccadillybackpackershoste.com where you will pay around 20 euros per night, in a 4 shared room, people generally are more reserved that in spain, but, you can find a lot of foreigno people to chat with.....well, i tried the chat in english on this page with the nick "LARRAGA" today and, is very curious, i met a girl who was supposed to be english but in the middle of the chat she called me , "javi", and in any moment i told her that this was my name, when i asked her about this , she is gone.......well, have been funny anyway, well, see you!! Cool video and great song!! I haven't heard it since years

London is calling and I have read on the webquest that one of us will get a free ticket to London!! We have to use our loaf and have a butcher’s in five Web sites. I’m going to browse through them to find the answer Maybe I will be the lucky winner ;-)

I have been to London only once and I think this city is an amazing place. Last year, when I was there, I visited a lot of London Attractions.

If I would win the ticket I would like to go to the “Thriller Live” show, see the “Darwin- Big Idea Big” exhibition and do something crazy

See you!!

London, the clash... London is one of my favorite cities in the world. Nowadays my heart is in Notting Hill for its atmosphere, pubs, people, Portobello market...and Candem too. To go for a pint walking around Soho... And what about the bridges of London ...and the spectacular construction work of the Thames Barrier and a relaxing picnic in Hampstead or Greenwich...to finish a total inmersion in the London night. It's superb

I was in England when I was young, too many years ago, and I remember it as something fantastic.
I spent several summers in Sawston, a village near Oxford and the experience was unforgetable.
On weekends we used to go to London and it was great:lot of people, lot of shops, lots of places to visit, mixtures of cultures that lived there...
Y would love to return and I would Like to do it soon.

Have a nice day. See you in the afternnon!!

Hello people,
how are things with you?,..yes, yes,..this homework is nice, but the best English training will be if we could go to London to spend some holidays, couldn't we?,..
But we are in Spain and it is too long time to obtain some free days.

So, dear collegues it's time to learn much English with homework like this. I'm sorry.

See you!!
